 Play Outside

Enjoy the warm weather by playing outside with your pomsky. Play fetch with balls, frisbees or sticks. You can also buy Dog Friendly Bubbles and blow bubbles so your pomsky can chase after them and pop them. If there is a dog park in your area, bring you pomsky to the dog park to give them play time with other dogs and help them learn to play and socialize with others.

Water Activities

Summer is a great time to bring your pomsky to the beach. Your dog will love exploring the sandy beach, walking around on the docks and cooling off in the water. Make sure to bring some fun Water Toys and a Life Jacket for your pomsky to play fetch in the water. Your dog might also enjoy feeling the wind blow through their fur on boat rides. If you are not close to a lake or the ocean, you can still give your pomsky time to play in the water by setting up a dog pool or sprinkler in your yard. This will help them cool off, and they will be excited to jump in the water or chase after the water spraying from a sprinkler.

 Hiking

Explore new scenery by taking your pomsky on a hike. Pomskies love to explore and will enjoy the new sights and smells that a hike has to offer. Ensure you have taken precautionary measures to protect your pomsky from fleas and ticks, especially if you are hiking in the woods or near tall grasses. You could also just take your dog on a longer walk than usual, or on a different route to explore new areas.

Outdoor Dining

Consider bringing your dog with you to a restaurant with outdoor seating. You will enjoy eating a nice meal while having your pomsky by your side. Make sure to closely monitor where your dog is sitting and what they are doing to prevent them from eating things off of the ground that they shouldn’t be eating. Plan ahead and bring water and food bowls so your dog can eat at the same time as you.

Picnics are another way to enjoy eating outside with your pomsky. Pack a meal or some snacks and head to the park with a blanket. Don’t forget to bring some treats, a puzzle toy, or a nylon bone to keep your pomsky busy while you are enjoying the summer day.

Local Events

Depending on where you live, there may be a variety of local events that are outdoors and dog friendly. Check out your local farmers market to find locally grown produce, fresh flowers, baked goods and other handmade items. There might even be freshly baked dog treats if you are lucky.

Bring your dog to a car show. This can be a great experience to train your pomsky to stay right by your side, and adjust their speed to keep up with you and pause when you stop walking. You will enjoy seeing brightly colored cars whether they are old or new, and your pomsky will likely receive attention from other car show attendees.

Bring your pomsky to a drive-in movie theater for a cozy experience. After playing outside all day long, you and your pomsky can enjoy watching a movie from the comfort of your car. Check the weather before you go to make sure it is not too hot, since you will likely turn your car off during the movie.

Road Trip

Bring your pomsky with you on a summer road trip. Exploring new areas with your pomsky will be a fun shared experience and you can take pictures of your pomsky at each destination along the way. Take breaks every 2-3 hours to let your pomsky go potty and stretch to ensure they are comfortable during the car ride. Bring a variety of toys and treats to entertain your dog. Learn what you need to pack and other car riding tips in our Car Rides with Your Dog blog post.

Photoshoot

Find beautiful outdoor scenery and do a photoshoot with your pomsky. This is a fun way to spend your afternoon and you will treasure the cute photos whether you want to frame them or just post them on social media. Photos can be taken during any of the previously mentioned activities, or you can go to your backyard or a park and find pretty places to stop and have your pomsky pose for the camera.

Summary

Summer is a great time to make memories with your pomsky. Bring your pomsky on a picnic, to a local farmers market, to the beach, or any other activity that is dog friendly and you think both you and your pomsky will enjoy.
