Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A pomsky is a mix between a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky. These dogs are popular for their small size with husky markings.

  • A pomsky can range between 10-35 lbs. This depends on the parents’ sizes and the generation of the pomsky. A pomsky breeder should give you an estimate of your pomsky’s full grown size.

  • Pomskies are estimated to live about 12- 15 years.

  • Pomsky pricing ranges from $2,000 - $5500. This depends on multiple factors including coat color and type, markings, eye color, the estimated size of the pomsky, and the age of the pomsky.

  • Yes. The amount of shedding will depend on the type of coat a pomsky has. Some pomskies shed a lot throughout the year, while other pomskies don’t shed very much throughout the year and then will “blow their coat” in the spring and fall. Ask your breeder or vet what type of coat your pomsky has. We recommend you brush your pomsky 1-2 times per week. You can also brush your pomsky outside to reduce the amount of fur in your home.

  • Your pomsky should be reliably potty trained by 6 months old. However, it may take up to 9 months or 1 year to eliminate all accidents. Pomskies are smart and catch on to training techniques – especially when they receive positive reinforcement.

  • Pomskies do not need baths very often. Brushing your pomsky is the best way to keep them looking fluffy and fresh. We recommend that you give your pomsky a bath after they get dirty or have been around other dogs. Some examples of times your pomsky might need a bath include: after swimming in a pool or lake, after rolling in the mud, after staying at a doggy daycare, after going on a dirty hike, or after playing in dirty snow. If your pomsky doesn’t get dirty very often, you can give them a bath every 2-3 months to refresh their coat. Find other grooming tips for pomskies in our grooming blog post.

  • • F1 Pomsky – This occurs when a female Siberian Husky is bred with a male Pomeranian.

    • F2 Pomsky – This is the result when both of the puppy’s parents are F1 Pomskies.

    • F3 Pomsky – This occurs when both parents are F2 pomskies, or one parent is an F2 pomsky while the other parent is an F4 or F5 pomsky.

    • F1b Pomsky – This is a pomsky that is a 25/75 mix. An F1 pomsky is bred with either a pure-bred Siberian Husky or a Pomeranian. Depending on the mix, your pomsky may be larger (75% Husky, 25% Pomeranian) or smaller (25% Husky, 75% Pomeranian).
