Strawberry Banana Whoopie Pies for Dogs

Treat your dog with this easy homemade dog treat recipe for Whoopie Pies with peanut butter filling. Your dog will love these delicious treats and as a dog owner, you will love knowing that you are giving your dog a treat with simple ingredients.

Cookie Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe Banana

  • 5-6 Ripe Strawberries

  • 1½ cups Old Fashioned Oats

  • 1 egg

  • 1/3 cup Creamy peanut butter (only ingredient is peanuts, does not have xylitol or sugars)

Filling:

  • 2-3 tablespoons Creamy peanut butter (only ingredient is peanuts, does not have xylitol or sugars)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Peel the banana and add it to a medium mixing bowl, then mash it with a large fork.

  3. Finely dice the strawberries until they are about the size of a pea or smaller, and add them to the bowl with the banana.

  4. Pour 1 cup of the Old Fashioned oats into a blender and blend until the oats are the consistency of flour. Once the oats are blended to a fine powder, add them to the bowl.

  5. Add the additional ½ cup of Old fashioned oats, egg, and creamy peanut butter to the medium mixing bowl.

  6. Using a silicone spatula mix the ingredients together until they are fully combined and form a wet dough.

  7. Using a spoon or cookie dough scoop (we recommend a 2 Tablespoon, Size #40 Cookie Dough Scoop) evenly space the cookies out on a cookie sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie. Use the back of the silicone spatula to flatten the cookies out.

  8. Bake for 22-25 minutes at 300° F until the tops of the cookies are golden brown.

  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to finish cooling.

  10. Once the cookies have fully cooled, use a butter knife to put peanut butter between two cookies to make the whoopie pie.

We recommend only assembling a few whoopie pies at a time and freezing them so the peanut butter stays firm. Store the remaining cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
