Apple Banana Pupcakes for Dogs

These homemade pupcakes are healthy and easy to make with only 6 simple ingredients. Pupcakes are the perfect treat to celebrate your dog’s birthday or any day!

Pupcake Ingredients:

  • 1 Ripe Banana (peeled and mashed)

  • 1 Small Apple (peeled and finely chopped)

  • 1 Large egg

  • ½ Cup Whole What Flour

  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Frosting (optional):

  • 1-2 Tablespoons Greek Yogurt – Nonfat, Plain, No Xylitol, and free of any added sweetener

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Lightly spray a non-stick mini muffin pan with olive oil non-stick spray, then wipe the excess oil out of each opening.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the banana and apple and mash them using a fork or potato masher until fully combined.

  3. Add the egg to the banana and apple mixture and whisk vigorously for 1-2 minutes.

  4. Pour the whole wheat flour and baking powder into the wet ingredients and stir for another 1-2 minutes or until batter is smooth.

  5. Using a spoon, fill each compartment of the mini muffin pan just below the top so the batter has space to rise.

  6. Bake in the oven at 350° F for 12 minutes and stick a toothpick into the center of a pupcake to check if they are done.

  7. Let the pupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire cooling rack.

  8. Allow the pupcakes to cool completely.

  9. Spoon the desired amount of yogurt into a sandwich bag and close the top. Cut the corner of the sandwich bag and pipe the yogurt onto each pupcake as “frosting”.

  10. Store the pupcakes in a container in the fridge for 7 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
