Apple Banana Pupcakes for Dogs
These homemade pupcakes are healthy and easy to make with only 6 simple ingredients. Pupcakes are the perfect treat to celebrate your dog’s birthday or any day!
Pupcake Ingredients:
1 Ripe Banana (peeled and mashed)
1 Small Apple (peeled and finely chopped)
1 Large egg
½ Cup Whole What Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
Frosting (optional):
1-2 Tablespoons Greek Yogurt – Nonfat, Plain, No Xylitol, and free of any added sweetener
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F. Lightly spray a non-stick mini muffin pan with olive oil non-stick spray, then wipe the excess oil out of each opening.
In a medium mixing bowl, add the banana and apple and mash them using a fork or potato masher until fully combined.
Add the egg to the banana and apple mixture and whisk vigorously for 1-2 minutes.
Pour the whole wheat flour and baking powder into the wet ingredients and stir for another 1-2 minutes or until batter is smooth.
Using a spoon, fill each compartment of the mini muffin pan just below the top so the batter has space to rise.
Bake in the oven at 350° F for 12 minutes and stick a toothpick into the center of a pupcake to check if they are done.
Let the pupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire cooling rack.
Allow the pupcakes to cool completely.
Spoon the desired amount of yogurt into a sandwich bag and close the top. Cut the corner of the sandwich bag and pipe the yogurt onto each pupcake as “frosting”.
Store the pupcakes in a container in the fridge for 7 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
